Gosh, it surely has been a long time since I updated this blog. There are so many people I miss... so many I have no idea how to get in touch with. Especially you, MEL! (There was no way to get to you from your comment and I have long since lost your info due to hard drive reformatting.)

These days, life (single life) is treating me pretty well. No complaints. Amazing how things that once felt so devastating become some of the best things to ever happen to you in your life. My divorce (technically, dissolution of civil union) was final on Dec 29th. :) I am now legally single. (And, by the way, the process was EXACTLY the same as divorce. Court and all.)
I just got back from a short getaway with a friend to the Dominican Republic. It was just what I needed. We left the DR the night before the earthquake in Haiti. I'd say we were lucky to get while we did, however, I kind of wished we had still been there because I'd have liked to be able to help in some other way than monetarily. It just doesn't feel the same when you can't get your hands dirty. (We actually almost rescheduled our trip home because I was sick Monday morning, but with help from a lot of Pepto, we were able to make our PM flight.)
You'll never believe that my sweet girl is now 11. It shocks me every day. She's still a sweetheart, but with a dose of 11 year old attitude mixed in now and then. Nothing unusual, though, she's still easier to parent than most. Gosh, I hope it stays that way!
I'm getting chubby again. Gained 20 pounds of the weight I had lost when the ex and I first split. But I'm so freakin' happy these days that it doesn't really even bother me.

Great to hear that things are going so well for you! I've checked your blog a hundred times over the past several months, just wondering if/when you might update it. Sounds like you've been pretty busy as a single lady! Nothing wrong with that!! :)
How cool that you got away to the DR...much more though, how amazing that you got OUT before the quake! Yes, it might have been humbling to be there to help...HAD you survived, but you have to believe that you got out just in time FOR A REASON!! :) The devastation over there is so heart breaking.
Sage is 11 now? WOW! Liam is about to turn 9 on Valentines Day and I can't believe it myself. Where does the time go??? It seems like only yesterday that I was bringing him home from the hospital. I just don't know how, in the blink of an eye, they grow up so darn fast!
Well, it's so good to see you back online and that things are finally looking up in your life. I know you went through a rough time with the separation and all. It's so refreshing when we can finally reassure ourselves that yes, life does go on! :)
